Time flies!
Oh boy, here I am again, writing on this poor neglected website that I like too much to let go of, but don't have the motivation to properly update! Agh!
I don't expect anyone to see this, but I am alive and feel the need to explain! First and foremost, I went on a hiatus in April, allowing the chat subscription to lapse and close, mostly because there was a raid of about a dozen trolls who were spamming vulgar content that I had to I.P. ban while deleting each message one at a time. This wasn't fun way to spend my birthday, and I was very over moderating the content posted there, to say the least! Especially as I was so busy with other things (namely work and personal projects.)
Now that my work season is over and I've got less responsibility on my shoulders, I've opened chat back up to crickets, which is to be expected - the site has been dead for the past 8 months, afterall. But I have not been dead! And here's a recap of what I did over the past 8 months!
I bought a car, I upgraded the soundsystem in that car and it sounds absolutely lovely. I bought a motorcycle, I then got my motorcycle license so I could ride that motorcycle, and it was amazing to ride that motorcycle! I made a ton of new 3d animated photography and started a YouTube channel to teach my craft. A much more popular content creator saw that YouTube channel, somehow, and made an Instagram reel about my work, which brought in over 8,000 new followers! I've been making clay blobs with derpy faces. I've been selling acorns online. I saw an epic total solar eclipse. I saw the northern lights. I saw a massive meteor fly across the sky the moment I opened my car door in a parking lot, which seemed like incredible odds. I saw one of my best friends get married in November. I got to witness some people grow very quickly in their relationship with God, which is amazing. I learned a lot and advanced my in-camera photography techniques quite a bit. I've been getting better at speaking, namely because I have to record audio for my YT channel. I made a lot of connections in my industry.
I also mowed a lot of lawns. I sustained multiple injuries. I worked in 90+ degree heat for extended periods of time, I hurt my knees, I hurt my back, I worked in freezing weather as well. I got dog poop on my shoes and clothes, I worked long shifts on zero sleep, I dealt with anxiety and disassociation, I learned a lot about how my physical health affects my mental health (and vice-versa!) and I like to think that I grew a lot in character. There were definitely some walls that came down, and there definitely new revelations made about life and the purpose of it. I got to witness myself do multiple things that I wouldn't have done 5 years ago. I definitely sense myself growing.
It's been a mixed year. It hasn't been all fun and excitement, in fact it's been primarily a year of growth and development and of letting go and acceptance. A lot of letting go, and a lot of acceptance. And that is a powerful thing.
I hope you're all doing well. Best wishes and high hopes..
