..has been in and out of my life since I was gifted my first dSLR in 2007. I could wax poetic about it all day, write long form articles about numerous aspects and angles of the craft, and tie in a lot of metaphors and life lessons while I'm at it. I have so many feelings about photography, good and bad, that I wouldn't know where to start. It's a really good excuse to go places and meet people that I otherwise wouldn't have allowed myself to approach, and is probably still the most accessible and democratic visual media available. At its core, it is really just the craft of exposing a photosensitive surface to light - the final image doesn't need to represent reality, and sometimes it doesn't even necessitate the use of a camera or lens. It's just the use of light to create a fixed image. Beautiful.
